RESIDENTIAL ESTATE IN AIGEN
RESIDENTIAL BUILDING
JUNI 2004
A city's dialectics makes one observe the parameters present. For problems of surrounding answers are given, repressions and characteristics are registered and developed. A railway line and a road passing by need an answer, adjoining buildings with a hackney odour - bourgeois, humdrum - demand interpretation and modification.

Two differential building structures were chosen: First a long row - with a face forbidding on one side, reactive, compact, and on the other hand communicative, friendly, manifold, projec¬ting and retracting. Thus a dialogue is established between the surrounding landscape, between what is common and uniting, between private and public. Secondly the other part of the structure continues the language of the main row as it has a number of low buildings, which yet belong to the same system. The call for the small, the private, the row house is to be heard. Row houses with often repeated patterns, yet following a clear rhythm and system and still having individuality.

Thus an answer is given to the surrounding buildings: a dense structure as opposed to the scattered buildings around. By means of garden architecture the space "between" (which is, as it were, the common ground) is developed as a park. The northern green area is "imbibed" and is realized as a green system of arteries in the paths and even terraces and balconies and even up the buildings.

Thus existing advantages of the landscape are made use of.
