WIMMER ZAIC ARCHITECTS
Curriculum Vitae
Among experts the projects of the studio have quite often been appraised greatly for their architectural conception, although many of them have been created within tight business conditions. Satisfying the client is not the ending but the beginning of the whole planning process.
Architecture evolves from a mysterious interaction between the client and a series of specialists. Conducting these specialists like an orchestra is the task of the architect. We believe that our experience and expertise, gained in numerous projects, guarantees a high rate of quality concerning the draft, then the planning and finally the realisation of the project.
The studio is run by Robert Wimmer and Michael Zaic. The projects are then executed by project managers, while being supported by engineers and draftsmen/-women. Two staff members are responsible for the office management.
With any project, which is being created in our studio, cost management is a decisive factor as it influences any part of the developing process. All our projects have been finalised within the predetermined cost and time frame, if not even below them. Controlling the costs from the very beginning and even in the earliest stages of planning reduces the possibility of unpleasant surprises when it comes to settling the accounts. Therefore assessing the costs and the construction material needed has become an essential part of the planning process at the earliest stage. Constant control of the decisions and actions in and outside the studio makes us aware of possible problems in time to initiate the corrections needed.
As master consultants and architects we not only perform any stage of the planning process on our own but also in cooperation with external consultants, coordinating the activities of the various planners and firms.
In our daily work we are supported by an extensive library equipped with up-to-date literature on current technical innovations and a huge collection of pictures and slides documenting all the different phases of our studio’s projects.
Out computer network at the moment consists of 14 CAD workstations, 2 workstations for 3D presentations and visualizations as well as 5 AVA stations and 3 additional pc workstations. Moreover the studio is equipped with scanners and printers for black and white as well as colour plots from the size of A4 to A0. In order to meet the ever increasing demand for telecommunication the studio is stocked with a modern ISDN telephone system and various fax lines.
We are of the distinct opinion that the design of a building is determined not only by the outside but just as well by the inside. Therefore the interior design is of major importance to us, our own studio in Salzburg being a prominent example of this conviction.
